I (finally) recieved my 70-200mm F/4L USM lens in the post today...I was at work, so I got it when I got home. And my god, what a lens. The thing is so solidly built, that when you hold it you can tell you have a finely crafted and excellent piece of kit in your hands. It's amazing. It's weighty (compared to the uberlightweight prime I usually use), but its perfectly balanced in the middle of the lens. And the USM AF on it is so fast and so accurate, even in low light (although at F/4, its not a low-light lens). It really is a thing of beauty though. I put a Hoya Pro1D UV filter on the front to protect it, because an new filter is £30, but a lens repair can exceed £100. Sense. Anyways, I'm still in shock with the perfection of the thing, so I'm going to go off and stroke it. Also, the penis innuendos have begun. I doubt I'll ever have heard them all. When it comes to innuendos, people are extremely inventive. Just remember. It's not compensating, it's complementing.
