Stuck with a prime... PDF Print E-mail

First of all, CSS naked day is over. CSS is restored which means the site is pretties again. I have to doubt the benefit of CSS naked day, with the intention of raising awareness of XHTML validity and sensible web design so it doesn't all fall to pieces without the CSS. The mootools powered menu threw some issues, but overall the site was unaffected by removing the CSS, so I'm happy. This is also an XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid site.

I went to Cliveden yesterday, a National Trust property. It's a nice place with beautiful grounds and the standard epicly maintained National Trust gardens, so great for photos, but everything is so superficially artificial. It doesn't make taking photos any worse, it just isn't such a nice place because of it I suppose. Still, photos. And then I realised I'd left my kit 18-55mm lens in another car. I had my 50mm F1.8 II attached, and its a brilliant lens with wonderful image quality, but I really would have appreciated the wider angles of the 18mm end, considering the wide open areas of the grounds. And also, because I'm not using a fullframe, all my focal lengths are 1.6x closer. It was my fault for leaving the other lens in the ca, but ah, it made things more interesting. I've been shooting mainly with my prime anyways, so I've got quite used to having a fixed focal range. And I have to say it really is fun photography when you have to move to get the shot you want. No deckchairs and 70-300mm zoom lenses here :)

Latest photos are mainly flowers, although theres a couple of 'The Fountain Of Love'. They're in my gallery and flickr.
